Pacquiao vs Mayweather: deal almost set
Dec. 02, 2009 | by Micko Santos
The mega fight between two big names in boxing Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is getting bigger. It has to happen. The Pacquiao-Cotto Firepower generated 1.25 million pay-per-view buys from 650,000 cable homes and 600,000 satellite services. Surely the Pacquiao-Mayweather is expected to reach more. Due to public demand, Bob Arum and Richard Schaefer began negotiations just a few days after the Firepower showdown. Arum was flying to the Philippines Tuesday to meet Manny Pacquiao to settle the deal for the fight.
Promoters are considering Dallas Cowboys Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena and New Orleans Superdome as the possible options for the venue of the fight. |
