Pacquiao vs Mayweather Mediation

Jan. 06, 2010 | by Dominic L. Hernandez

Still no deal settled after nine hours of mediation for the 2010 Pacquiao-Mayweather mega fight with retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein in Sta. Monica, California. Boxing fans around the planet are expressing annoyance on endless talks of both camps.

“At least what we heard was not an announcement saying the fight is off,” “Perhaps, they’re still trying to tie up some loose ends.” said Pacquiao lawyer Franklin Gacal.

Both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao agreed to random urine testing but Mayweather wants to have random blood testing. The mega fight is supposed to take place on March 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I think the best way for Pacquiao to answer allegations is to accept the challenge just to prove that he’s a clean fighter. It’s a good way to stop all the performance-enhancing drugs issues around boxing news. A fighter like Manny Pacquiao is worthy of respect in boxing community.

I’m still hoping for a positive outcome at the end of mediation. Representatives should make it happen because this is a demand of the public and fight nowadays is possible. Top Rank Bob Arum said that if all the talks fail, Manny Pacquiao will possibly face junior middleweight Yuri Foreman on March 20 in Las Vegas.
